Running Accomplishments:

Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

Not exactly sure on the mileage today plus or minus 2 miles.  I have a friend who would like to try out running and so we are just getting started.  It's great because I have reall y lost my base with the hip injury and so we can get off on the same page together!  She can't run the whole 2 miles so we walk a little run a little ect. and it's working out great.  The best part is that I haven't been having ANY hip pain so far! ( hope that I didn't speak to soon!)  I would like to get out and do some runs by myself and run the whole time a bit but I think she'll come along quickly and we'll be doing it together soon!

Good job! Keep it up! Its very smart to ease slowly into the running because of injury, and smart to have a training partner to keep you motivated!

Two miles by myself today, no friend, no dog.  It felt hard but in a good way!  Very beautiful out today couldn't ask for a more lovely morning to run in!

Two miles running in the afternoon, another beautiful sunny afternoon.  And then 2 miles walking with my friend in the evening.  Not so beautiful, pretty darn cold!

2.5 ish today, my nikeipod battery is dead and I need to order another so I'm not exactly sure on the mileage.  Nothing too excitting but I'm hoping it will get up there soon!

Two miles with the two dogs.  I could only run a little and then untangle the leashes, run and repeat.  If I want a serious run I'm learning to leave them behind but they needed to get out today too.  I think I got more of a work out keeping them untangled and out of trouble than the running/walking but anything is good!

2 miles on the treadmill it really wasn't too bad!  I usually hate the treadmill but since I managed to do two on it I would think that I'm up for at least 3-4 outside, hopefully the weather will clear out so I can get out and try.  It's been really wet and snowed all day today!

one and a half on the treadmill this morning.  Took a break for a day or two after some pain in the hip from Monday.  It wasn't too bad and seems to be fine today, guess it might just be slower than I thought working into it again.

I also can feel that I'm getting some fitness back and it feels good!!!

Biking miles 20.  I'm really gonna get serious about blogging again....  this time for real!!!

 l also bought a road bike a few weeks ago and think I will try and mix things up there a bit too!

went out tonight for a quick run just to calibrate my ipod sensor.   I did 18.5 miles on my bike this morning. 

 

Can anyone remind me how to change it on my entries so I can add in my cross training miles on my bike?

Ran after getting off work this morning.  Haven't done that in a while but it's getting warm in the afternoons when I wake up and a friend and I have been doing some biking in the evenings so I figured today this is the only way I would get it done.  I actually think I had five in me but ran out of time before having to get kids up for school.  I love these spring mornings for running!

Good run today..  It's been a while since I have done six miles.  Wasn't sure my legs could find that gear again but they came through!  Actually now that I have it done and logged it actually felt pretty good!  It was a little warm but I'm so ready for this weather that I won't even complain.  Days like these are why I run!

Went out about nine at night, had eaten around seven so I was a little nervous but really wanted to get a run in.  The first mile or so was a little uncomfortable but then the stomach settled down and I felt pretty good!  By the end of the run I think I easily could have gone farther, but the streets aren't too well lit and I didn't want to sprang my ankle in a bump in the road!  Loved the run though, it's been a while since I have ran at night and now remember that I love it!

after last nights run was expecting another great run..... WRONG!   Legs were feeling rather tired and upset that I was requiring anything of them, and it was pretty windy out!  I had planned to do six or seven but with the wind and the dead legs stuck to my regular five.  Should have pushed a little farther, but at least I didn't shorten it anymore than my regular five!  After almost a year of hip pain, I am just soooo glad to be able to be doing five again, even if my legs are dead tired and I don't feel like it!!!

Four miles walking with a friend!  Can't quite get her to get running but it's fun to walk and talk do I will make the sacrifice!   Also it let's me mix things up a bit.  Still a bit worried about pushing the hip so walking a riding the bike for me are just fine as long as I'm getting some good runs in and my distance and endurance in running is improving!

Six miles of running.  Good fun run today!  The first part was some pretty good up hill miles, my calves should be pretty sore tomorrow, but it was a good run.  Not sure if you should follow up hill by up hill the next day to work out the soreness?  Any suggestions?
