keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Didn't feel much like getting up this morning to run, so I layed in bed debating about going back to sleep and running on the treadmill later or if I should just get up and do it then. I decided that 3 miles on the treadmill would be torture and if I hurried I could do a nice run and be back pretty quick. So I planned a new route in my head and hurried off. I originally planned to do 3-4 miles but after the first 2 I was at the beginning of one of my four mile routes so decided, why not? It felt pretty good too! My right hip stated to hurt again like yesterday, it's not terrible but it's there. It almost feels like that leg is a little longer than the other and so it stretches a little further when my foot comes down... that sounds a little crazy, but any thoughts anyone? I also know that I need new shoes maybe that could be the problem, only problem there is there is no place to buy them here so I'm stuck for a day or two or three....

Good job Michelle! I did the same thing this morning with laying in bed, except I went back to sleep. Ooops! What a great run! I have yet to attempt 6 miles, although if I feel good, I am planning one on Monday. My hip is bugging me a little too. Where does it hurt, exactly? If it it towards the front of your body it could be your IT band--usually more stretching is needed. If it is more towards your back, it could be where your gluteus medius attaches. If it is right in the joint area there are a million different things it could be. At least that's what my physical therapist/neighbor says. Be careful. You don't want to take an irritation and trade it in for a real injury.
