Running Accomplishments:

Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

Just me and the treadmill today. When I got up the wind was already at it, and by the time the kids were off it was blowing hard. Couldn't make myself face that, so I headed to the treadmill. I always dislike it also but I had to get it done. I got creative because by 2 miles I was ready to quit, so at 2.4 I jumped off and did a set of 25 abs on the ball, did another mile and then did abs and triceps on the ball and then finished for a total of 4 miles. Also to see the distance on the tracker go by faster ( because without a t.v.dowm there I can't seem to look away from the digital screen of how far I've gone) I did some sprints too. Probably not the best Idea but I would crank it as fast as I could go untill I couldn't do it any more and then down 3-4 times.

Well I made it through the week without any refined sugar or white flour. I must say that it wasn't very hard either. And I must be the worlds biggest "Treat" lover too. I love ice cream, candy, brownies all of it! I love it!!! I am at the point last night that I ran to a grocery store that has a home made bakery, and as I walked passed the mint/chocolate brownies, and yummy stuff it looked good but thought I could take it or leave it. I'm sure it tastes good but I really don't crave it! I'm sure I won't be a 100% this weekend but from here on out I'm going to keep trying to keep my diet more in that direction. It's been a fun experiment that I have learned a lot from!

Awesome eating! Way to walk by the brownies! Keep it up! I love what you said about "more in that dirction." One of my favorite quotes is "we over-estimate ourselves in the short run and under-estimate ourselves in the long run." Persistence is key.

Michelle, nice to meet you and your daughter. You are a great role model. It is so cool that you run with your daughter. Thanks for the BS Rools comments. Awesome, 9 minute mile at age 9! Wow
