Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Same run today as yesterday. Seemed a little harder though? Not sure why? Even though it was an earlier run, it seemed as warm as yesterday and I got thirsty at about 4 miles. Snuck into the multievent center for a quick drink and streched the hip a little and then headed out again. Time almost exactly as yesterday 1:01:30.

1.1 with Callzee tonight, we did it in 10:02, 9:07 pace, that was really good for her. She has used my ipod the last 2 nights, I think were on to something!

Michelle, we are leaving tomorrow, staying for 10 days on Oahu. We have 3 grown kids going with their spouses and one 2 and 1/2 year old. Have fun, what a great place to go on vacation. You and your daughter can will have great runs over there. Moab half, great race, we do it about every year. I need to ponder my suggestion for a group name. Since some men bloggers have made a big deal out of getting chicked, maybe the "The dude eliminators" Your group are runners, not shufflers, no shuffling sisters. Your group can give a blog update every race on how many dudes you eliminated as you passed them. I will think of something better. By the way, good job on your miles base, if you increse your long run every couple of weeks it will make a big difference, work up to 10+.

Nice consistency getting in another 6 today! What's this about Hawaii?!! Are you going soon? And Brent too? NO FAIR! I took my family to Maui last Aug. to celebrate Jim's mid life crisis- J/K! To celebrate his graduation from nursing school... It was AWESOME- can't wait to go again. My parents have been going to Kaui the last few years, that's where I'd like to go next or Oahu to see the N. Shore. Anyway- YES Michelle, I would love to run w/ you & Mik'L & whoever this Sat. I will plan on it!!! Should we have Mik'l pick a route (she's more local than me after all...)

From Michelle on Wed, Oct 10, 2007 at 22:39:21

So I'll plan on the run Sat. and what ever Mik'L picks will work for me too. Christi, your awfully gung-ho for someone who just ran a marathon.... were are you getting this energy? Hopefully the massage yesterday helped, maybe that's why your so energetic! I guess I'll take it a little easy the next 2 days and give this hip a chance to rest up!

From sarah on Wed, Oct 10, 2007 at 23:31:01

whoa!! You ran 7..Lybi ran 6....I'm feeling pressure to up my five miles to more....especially since I'm not pregnant yet....you'd think I'd be happy with 5 little ones but it seems my lot in life to just want to be thinking about the next one. Are you guys going to be around for Thanksgiving? You should have Calzee run the kids race in Orem on Thanksgiving day. I'm going to run the 4 miler and try to break my 5k PR mid race and then see what happens on the last mile.

From Michelle on Wed, Oct 10, 2007 at 23:49:50

Sarah you are already do 5 regularly, my miles go up and then down...up and then down. The only thing that you need to feel pressure about is joining us in March for the Moab half! As for Thanksgiving we are usually in Wayne Co. for that. I actually often work the night before and then we go over. There is some kinda turkey trot here, but I don't know the distance or if there is anything for kids that she can do? I'm going to look into it though!

From Mik'L on Thu, Oct 11, 2007 at 00:20:02

I was hoping to do 8-10 miles on Saturday...is that more than you guys want to do? If we did the 6 mile loop from the Dixie Center through Bloomington Hills (Christi-do you know that loop?) and added a little while in Bloomington Hills, we could get to 7.5-8ish. You guys are both faster than me though, so I don't know if I will be able to keep up! Especially because I slow down when I'm gabbing. If this loop is good for you guys, we could meet at the trailhead at the Dixie Center at 7:30 or 8? Just throwing out some ideas to get started from!

From Lybi on Thu, Oct 11, 2007 at 00:33:39

Great job, Michelle! Man, I am jealous that I won't be there on Sat. to run with you guys. Well, I guess I feel a little lucky because that sounds like a DARN LONG WAY to run. But Moab is going to be so SWEET! Thanks for the idea/invitation.

From Christi on Thu, Oct 11, 2007 at 00:37:27

I'm game! Let me apologize in advance if I'm SLOW! Mik'l, I'm not sure of the exact route you're talking about, but I have an idea where you're going with it and it would be good for me to learn some new routes. 7:30 sounds good to me for Saturday. Looking forward to it!

From Mik'L on Thu, Oct 11, 2007 at 00:39:03

It's 10:45...Mik'L, Lybi, Christi: Go to bed! haha It's funny we are all on right now making comments but now I really am going to bed.
