Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

Took things really easy today and just put the miles in. I have decided that it's better to do 6-7 miles and not push because there's not a big difference from when I do or don't and I don't get that big of return on my times from when I do. So if I do more miles slower I will build a bigger base and the time increase should come too. Todays times where 9:29,10:10,10:22,10:31,10:44,10:26 for a total of 1:01:24. The first mile was a little down hill, but not much and then a lot of tiny down, but mostly gradual climbs. I always tend to get slower. I'm not going to worry about it much though untill I start to build my base some more. My hip complained quite loudly today also towards mile 5 and 6. I decided today to get to the bottom of this too. I'm going to talk to my friend who is a P.T and see if she thinks she or the Chiro is the best idea and then get on it. The weather was beautiful today for an afternoon run. Not as nice as it is in the mornings but definatley good running conditions!

1.2 easy miles with Callzee tonight. No hip pain on the run tonight?

I think you're exactly right- its more important to get in the miles and enjoy them. Don't worry about pace, that comes with more miles. I think your pace is great as it is anyway!

How long are you guys staying here this weekend? Maybe we could get together for a run Saturday morning? I want to do 8-10, but it will be pretty slow. Let me know your plans and if you can handle my snail pace.

No pain in the hip, good! Maybe your hip likes a slower pace. That's a lot of miles, BTW--good job.

Hey which half marathon are we doing? I'm in!
