Running Accomplishments:

Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

according to my info I ran 3.3 miles today with a 10:03 pace. I don't know if thats good or bad. It didn't feel like one of my better runs but would loved to have seen a little better pace.

I think it's good. I'm a beginner, it's true, but still, when I run at 10 min. a mile on a normal day I pass all kinds of people who are jogging (including men). What follows may not be accurate: I thought I read somewhere that your normal everyday runs are commonly about a minute and a half slower than your racing speed. So would you be happy with a 5K at 8:30 pace (~26 min.)?

Heck yes I would be! I thought that a 10 min. pace wasn't that great, but if your passing guys with that, thats encouraging enough for me! I rarely (basically never) see anyone running, unless it's a rare morning and I go with my husband and then I just see his dust!
